1.There be... 有……句型“There be...”是表示某事物存在與否的句型，句中的“there”只起到引導的作用，句子的真正主語是謂語動詞“be”后面的單數可數名詞或者復數可數名詞。“be”的情況視主語而定。謂語與最鄰近的主語保持一致。there是引導詞，在句中不充當任何成分，翻譯時也不必譯出。

2.鄰近規則：若 there be 后面是兩個或多個并列的名詞,動詞be的形式則與靠得最近的那個名詞的數一致,如：There is a pen, two books and many pencils on the desk. 桌上有一支鋼筆、兩本書和好些鉛筆。 There are two bottles and an ashtray on the shelf. 架子上有兩個瓶子和一個煙灰缸。

3. there be句型的各種時態（1）there be句型可以用動詞be的各種時態，即一般現在時、一般過去時、將來時和完成時。該句型的時態有多種，需根據相應的句子時態變換be動詞：There is/are... there was/were... there will be/be going to... there has been/have been... there had been...

該句型還可以使用各種情態動詞以及含有情態意義的動詞或動詞短語，此時，該句型多表示“必然"“可能”“預見"“過去曾存在’’等含義，

具體如：

1)、There must be…肯定有……

2)、There may／might be…可能有……

3)、There can’t be…不可能有……

4)、There used to be…曾經有……

5)、There ought to／should be…應該有……

6)、Theremust have been…一定已經有過……(表推測)

7)、There may have been…可能已經有過……(表推測)

8、There appear／seem to be…似乎有……

9)、There be likely to be…可能有……

10)、There happen to be…碰巧有……

（3）there be句型也可和下面這些的謂語動詞連用,如be going to 、seem to 、appear to 、used to、be likely to 、happen to …. There seem to be a few trees between me and the green. 在我與草坪之間好像有一些樹。There is gong to be a meeting tonight.今天晚上有個會議。There is likely to be a storm.可能有一場暴雨。There happened to be a bus nearby.碰巧附近有輛公交車。There appears to have been a nasty accident.似乎發生了一起嚴重事故

5.There is/are sb. doing sth.

there be句型用來說明不確定的賓語過去和現在的情況。如：There's a man standing in the garden.花園里站著個男人。There was somebody looking at her.有個人正看著她。

There are two people waiting outside.

有兩個人正在外面等候。

There is a man sitting on the fence. 有個人正坐在籬笆上。

There are two people sitting on a boat and throwing rubbish into the lake.

6.對數量提問：一般有兩種提問方式：如果主語是可數名詞,無論是單數還是復數,都用“How many +可數名詞復數 + are there + 介詞短語?”表示：There are twelve months in a year. 一年有12個月。→How many months are there in a year?一年有多少個月？

There is only one book in my bag. 我的書包里僅有一本書。→ How many books are there in your bag?你的書包里有多少數？There is a cat in the box. 有一只貓在盒子里。→ How many cats are there in the box?盒子里有多少只貓？如果主語是不可數名詞,則用“ How much + 不可數名詞 + is there + 介詞短語?”表示：There is some money in my purse.我的錢包里有一些錢。

→ How much money is there in your purse?你的錢包里有多少錢？

There be 句型的否定句有兩種構成方式，

一種是將否定副詞not放在be 之后，如：

（1）There isn’t a box in the room.房間里沒有盒子。

（2）There aren’t any pens on the desk.課桌上沒有鋼筆。

（3）There hasn’t been any rain for a week.一周沒下雨了。

（4）There won’t be a meeting today.今天沒有會議。

另一種是在主語前加上不定代詞no , 如：

（1）There is no water in the bottle.瓶子里沒有水。

（2）There are no pictures on the wall.墻上沒有圖畫。

（3）There will be no one at home tomorrow morning.明天上午不會有人在家。

（4）There might be no money left。或許沒有剩下什么錢。

7.there be 句型用的其他動詞：

there be 句型中有時不用動詞be ，而用come , live ,stand , lie,seem to be , happen to be ,等。如：

There ____ a knife and a forkon the table.

A. seems to be

B. seem to be

C. is seeming to be

D. are

剖析：根據就近原則，首先排除B、D，而 there be 句型中有時不用動詞be ，而用come , live ,stand , lie,seem to be等，所以答案應從A、C中選。感官動詞一般不用進行時，故C也不正確。答案為A.

Once upon a time there lived a king in China.從前中國有一個國王。

這些不及物動詞可以是表示存在狀態的不及物動詞(stand，live，lie,exist，remain等)，

或涉及形象描述某事發生或某人某物到達、運動的不及物動詞(come，appear，rise，enter，follow等)。

(1) There is no point in regretting. 后悔沒有用。

(2) There is no point in reasoning with him. 跟他說道理沒有用。

There is no doing sth. 不可能……；無法……

There is no doing．不(可)能……，很難……。此句型中的doing即動名詞或動名詞短語，多為表示“轉述’’或“認知”的動詞，

如：say，know，tell，talk．變為v-ing后一般可以跟what,when引導的疑問句。

1)、There is no saying such words．

不可能講這樣的話。

2)、There is no saying what will happen．

很難說會發生什么。

3)、There is no knowing when we shall meet again．

不知何時我們能再相會。

There is no telling who will win the match. 無法斷定比賽誰贏。

8. there be結構的非限定形式是there to be和there being，主要用來做介詞或動詞的賓語、主語或狀語。如：I don't want there to be any trouble.我不想那里有任何麻煩。It's important for there to be a meeting soon.很重要的事情是，馬上有個會議要參加。There being a bus stop near my house is a great advantage.我家旁邊有個公共汽車站,很是方便。John was relying on there being another opportunity. 約翰相信另有機會。

there being是there be的非謂語形式，用來作主語、介詞賓語或狀語。

there being常以獨立主格形式出現，此時主要用作原因狀語或條件狀語。

there being還可以作介詞賓語，相當于帶邏輯主語的動詞一ing形式。

9. .there be句型的幾種特殊表達。（1）There be no need (for sb) to do sth。如：There's no need to worry-everything will be all right.沒有必要擔心，一切都會好的。There is no need for him to come.他沒有必要來。（2）There be no + V-ing形式。如：There was no knowing when he would be back.不需要知道他什么時候會來。Sorry. Theres no smoking in the waiting-room.對不起，在等候室沒有不能吸煙。（3）There be no use + V-ing形式。如：There is no use asking her, she doesn”t know anything.問她是沒有用的，她不知道任何事情。（4）There is no doubt about sth/There is no doubt that。如：There is no doubt about it.我們對它沒有疑問。There can be no doubt that China belongs to the Third World.中國屬于第三世界是毫無疑問的事實。

10. There be+sth+不定式/有……要做

此句型中的及物動詞(動詞不定式)也可改成被動式to be done，意為“有……要做"。在口語中更多的是使用動詞不定式的主動形式，但有時，兩種形式可能表達的意思有所不同。

There is a lot of work to do／to be done．

有很多工作要做。

There are less fish to catch．

可以捕的魚更少了。

11. There be 句型也可以和這樣一些的謂語動詞連用：be going to 、seem to 、appear to 、used to、be likely to 、happen to ….

（1）There seem to be a few trees between me and the green.在我與草坪之間好像有一些樹。

（2）There is going to be a meeting tonight.今天晚上有個會議。

（3）There is likely to be a storm.可能有一場暴雨。
